Kabbadi

This game was formed based on the historic event “Mahabharata”, It was normally played within a group of people, who attacks the other team individually in a session. It is normally an Indian game , played by all state people in India, later on played by Thailand, Japan, China , Nepal, Bangladesh and Srilanka. In 1918, Kabaddi received the first national status, but after the establishment of “The Amateur Kabaddi Federation” in 1973 , developed the game by organizing the regular National level men and Women tournaments. This game is something like doing the Yoga, the Indian science for controlling the body and mind. The game is to score points by raiding the opponent team and return to their home court by touching as many defenders without getting caught. And this raid must be start by chanting the word “kabaddi” by holding their breath till they return to their home court. There are three forms of Kabaddi namely Amar, Gemini and Sanjeevani. Each form has different set of people with different court measurement. It is a “Game of Mass” as it has its simplicity, easy to follow and so later in 1995 women started to play the first international women Kabaddi tournament.
